北極店
「北極」 で検索すると沢山出てきます。名前だけ北極のお店も＾－ この数字は何？ 距離は合いませんし、緯度も関係ないみたい。
Several SIMs can be found by searching with North Pole, including shops just named so. But what are these numbers? The distance does not match and there seems to be no relation with the latitude.

In the RL, Santa is at the town of Rovaniemi, Finland. More than 700,000 letters are coming to him every year from all over the world. This is a real photo of Rovaniemi, like a town in SL! Other way around, this might be the model of some villages in SL.
南極点も探しましたが、SLには見つかりませんでした。これはRLの南極点で、米国の基地があります。
I searched for South Pole too, but there is none found in SL. This is the real South Pole, at the USA station.

海
今年もRLで水着を着ませんでした；； そういえばSLでも・・・
ここはチェルノブイリやイギリス湖水地方の美しいSIMを作られたLauren BenthamさんのBaja SIM群です。
ただ砂浜が広がっているだけでなく、細かいところまで作り込まれていて、現実感があります。

I did not wear a swim suit this year. Come to think of it, neither RL nor SL. This is one of Baja SIMs created by Lauren Benthan who did the beautiful SIM for Lakeland England and the Everwinter, Post-Apocalyptic Theme Park. This SIM was also meticulously built that brings realistic feeling.
水着を着てみたけど、SLで泳ぐのは感じが出ないので、ブイまで飛んでしまった＾－＾
この先端に立とうとしましたけど、何度やっても落ちました；；
I wore a swimsuit but it is not interesting to swim in SL, so I flew to the buoy. I tried hard to stand at the tip but did not make it.
少し荒れた感じの海岸にはコテージが並んでいます。
Along a bit wild shore, there are many cottages.
のんびり夕陽を浴びてくつろいでいるといい感じ。こういうところに別宅があるのもいいな。
でも、ほとんどのコテージは既に入居者があります。ここも誰かさんの家＾－＾
It is very restful expensive mood sitting with evening sun. It could be nice to have a second house like this. But almost all cottages were already occupied. This one is also someone’s property.

ハロウィーン
コロラドSIMでハロウィーンパレードがありました。
日本時間では月曜日の朝だったので、出勤前にちょこっと写真を撮りに行きましたが、始まるまで居られなかった；；
There was a Halloween parade at Colorado SIM. Since it was in the early morning on Monday Japan time, I took a few pictures but was not able to stay until the parade starts.
仮装パレードと言っても皆さん正装。私は幽霊グレー（？）で行ったけど、誰も声をかけてくれなかった；；
重くてクラッシュしてる人もいたので、本当に読み込み遅れだと思われてたかも＾－
It seemed to be a costume parade but most of them dressed up. I wore a phantom gray but nobody said about it. The SIM was heavy and there were several people crashed. I could be seen as a reading error.
コロラドは活動が盛んなRPG SIMです。毎日何かグループ通知があり、新メンバーの紹介も多い。
私も一時参加してたのですけど、どうしても時差の関係で逢う人が限られてしまいます。
日本にもRPGがあるといいのですけど。でも、日本ではSL自体が一種のRPGなんですよね＾－
Colorado is one of very active RPG SIMs. There are group messages almost every day and many new members introduction. Once I was attending but it was hard to participate due to time difference. I wish there were some RPG in Japan, but SL itself could be a kind of RPG in Japan.

アパッチの村
以前無法者との対決を見ていたインディアンに、アパッチの村に案内してもらいました。
ここには25人が住んでいるそうです。左側にあるマットに全部ずらりとインディアンが座ったら壮観だろうな。
The Indian girl sitting by the encounter of the marshal and outlaw brought me to the pueblo of apache. She said there were twenty five residents here. It might be a magnificent view when all of them are sitting on the array of cushions.
逞しい男性は戦士長だそうで、この方もドイツ人でした。
The macho man is a war chief. He is also German.
ダンスが撮りにくかったので、別の日に私も踊ってみましたが、ダンスというより上下に飛び跳ねてるだけみたい。
アパッチのダンスって本当にこんなの？（＾－） このダンスボールもドイツ語でした。
ペンシルバニアダッチ、ってありましたから、アリゾナダッチもいたのかな（＾－）
並んだ座布団には名前がついています。指定席？ イベントも沢山あるようですけど、なかなか時間が合わなくて見れないのが残念です。
Since it was hard to shoot the dance, I did it myself later, but it looked like just jumping up and down rather than dancing. Is real dance of apache like this? The explanation of the dance ball was also German. Since there was Pennsylvania Dutch, there could be Arizona Dutch. Each cushion has the name respectively. Are they reserved seats? There may be many events going on but it is too bad that it is hard to attend due to time difference.
部落の全景、昔のインディアンの遺跡のように崖にそって高く作られていました。
飛行は禁止なので梯子を上ってここまで来るのは結構大変でした。
The pueblo from the top. It was a cliff dwelling like a relic of old indian habitation site. Since flying is prohibited, it was not easy to come to this height using ladders.

動物たち
西部のロールプレイには動物も参加しています。但し動物役は言葉を話してはいけないのだそうです。
保安官と一緒のときに白い狼がやってきて、ウフ、ウフ、と何かを訴えます。
ついて行くと小屋の中に人質が閉じ込められてるらしい。でもカメラを飛ばして中を覗いてはいけないんだって。
人間が操作していない牛や馬も沢山います。この牛はアバターではなかった。でもRLならこんなに近寄ったら怖い（＾－）
There are many animals in the RP. As a rule, an animal avatar should not talk. When together with the marshal, a white wolf came by and tried to give a message by ‘woof woof’ and gesture. He took us a hut where the hostage might be blocked in. But it is out of rule to peep inside with flying camera. Also there are many animals not manipulated as avatars. This cow was not an avatar. In the RL, it will be scary to come so close like this.
きれいな馬がいたので、インディアンになってツーショット。白い狼してた方も次に逢ったらインディアンでした。
同じ日に役割を変えたらだめなのですが、日替わりならいいみたい（＾－）
There was a beautiful horse and I changed into an Indian to take pictures. The white wolf became an Indian girl when I met her next time. The rule said you should not change the role in one day but it could be OK to change daily.
バファローに近寄ったら、突然攻撃され、あっという間にライフゲージがゼロに（；；）
立ち上がることも動くことも出来なくなりました。禁止だけど飛ぶことは出来たので地面を這うようにして人家のある方へ。
そこへ来たのがあの駅馬車に乗せてくれたお医者さんで、すぐ治療していただきました。
といってもHUDの数字を変えるだけで、お医者さんごっこするのではない（＾－） 他にもイノシシが攻撃してきます。
There was a buffalo. I came close and was attacked suddenly. The life gauge became zero within a short period. I was able to neither stand up nor move. Only I could do was to fly, although it is prohibited in the area, and groveled to a house at last, where a doctor came across who was the owner of the coach that I rode the other day. The medical treatment is only reset the number of the life gauge and no doctor play (^-^). Wild boars are also dangerous.
実は上の写真は、もう一度撮影のためにわざと襲われたのです。でも今度はお医者さんが来てくれなかった。
住民HUDを外してビジタータグにすれば立てるのですけど、他の場所でHUDを装着すると、怪我が治っていないのでその場で倒れてしまう（；；）
治療してもらうか自然に治るまで（45分？）寝ていないとだめみたいです。

I found that it was possible to stand up by using ‘visitor’ tag, but whenever I wear the resident HUD at any place to follow the rule, I will hit the dust because I did not recover from the injury. I may have to stay in bed for cure period (45 minutes?) or to see a doctor.

HC牧場の決闘？
すごく揺れる駅馬車でご一緒したのは、アリゾナの女性保安官でローウェル砦の少佐。
インディアンとは平和に過ごしてるそうですが問題は無法者で、強盗、誘拐や、アパッチを襲ったりするそうです。
A passenger riding together on the badly shaking coach was a marshal woman from Arizona and major from Fort Lowell. She said that they are in peace with the Indians but the great problems are the outlaws who robe, kidnap and attack the apache.
牧場の近くに来たら無法者らしき男が現れました。私はすぐ離れビジタータグで傍観者に（＾－）
この無法者は保安官の友達のインディアンの女性を誘拐し、身代金2000コインか金10本を要求してます。
When we came across a ranch, an outlaw showed oneself. Immediately I wore a visitor tag and stepped back to keep a close eye on the situation. The outlaw caught an Indian girl who is a friend of the marshal, and demanded 2,000 coins or 10 gold bars.
激しい応酬があり、ガンファイトになるかとどきどきしてたら、明日彼女を連れてくるから金を用意しろ！ということで別れた。
お二人ともドイツ人のようで、英語での啖呵が面白かったです。
「明日彼女を連れてこなければ、お前の尻を事務所のドアの上に釘付けしてやる」と言ったけど、
ass-holeをashと略したら通じなくて、「それ分らない」と言われ、横にいたインディアンが通訳するという楽しいシーンが（＾－）
There were severe retorts, so I was watching if there will be a gunfight, but they agreed to see each other next day together with the lady and ransom respectively. Both of them seemed to be German and it was interesting to see blustering out in English. The marshal said, “I nail your ash on my office door”, but the abbreviation ‘ash’ for ass-hole was not understood, and I watched an interesting situation that an Indian sitting by made interpretation.
で、翌日指定の時間に私も先に行って待ってました。保安官が来ましたが無法者は現れず。
後で保安官に伺ったら彼は他の場所でガンファイトしてたのだそうで、ご立腹の様子でした。
そういえば最後に彼が「無法者の約束だ（笑）」なんて言ってたな。
So on the next day, I was at the spot in advance and waiting for them. The marshal appeared but the outlaw did not. I asked the marshal later and she was a bit upset because at that time the outlaw was doing other gunfight at other place. Come to that, he said when departing, “You have the word of an outlaw (lough)”.
結局私も待ちぼうけ。保安官が立ち去ってからも30分ほど待ってみましたが、誰も来ませんでした。
くっきりと出た影が西部の無情な日差しを示しているようです。
Also I went on waiting only to be disappointed. I was there for another thirty minutes but nobody came. The clear shadow seems to depict harsh sunbeam in the West.

駅馬車
西部と言えば駅馬車、お医者様に乗せていただきました。
定期便ではなく、この方の個人所有のもので、西部を旅行するにはこれが一番いいと。
A local character in the West is a stage coach. A doctor let me ride. This is not a regular service but his private vehicle. He said this is the best way to travel in the West.
サンタアナ、私がカリフォルニアに住んでいた町の隣です。
今は周囲をフリーウェイが走り賑やかですけど、開拓時代はこんな感じだったのか。
This is City of Santa Ana, the neighboring town where I was living in California. Now this is a busy town surrounded by many freeways but it should be like this in pioneer days.
小さなキャニオンを抜けて。西部の感じが出てますね。
Passing through a small canyon. It does provide an atmosphere of the West.

Since this is also a vehicle, crossing SIM border is a problem. It started runaway suddenly, climbing rocks and flying through the air.
最後はどこかの家の裏庭でスタック。ウマは砂の山に埋もれ、馬車は骨組だけに。
Finally it stuck in a backyard of a house. The horses were buried in sand and the coach left only the framework.
ロバ車に乗って帰りました。馬車をなくしてしまったお医者様がなんとなくしょぼんとしてる。
We took a donkey cart on the way back. The doctor who lost his coach looked somewhat crestfallen.
定期便ではなく、この方の個人所有のもので、西部を旅行するにはこれが一番いいと。
A local character in the West is a stage coach. A doctor let me ride. This is not a regular service but his private vehicle. He said this is the best way to travel in the West.
サンタアナ、私がカリフォルニアに住んでいた町の隣です。
今は周囲をフリーウェイが走り賑やかですけど、開拓時代はこんな感じだったのか。
This is City of Santa Ana, the neighboring town where I was living in California. Now this is a busy town surrounded by many freeways but it should be like this in pioneer days.
小さなキャニオンを抜けて。西部の感じが出てますね。
Passing through a small canyon. It does provide an atmosphere of the West.

西部の街
Kazumiさんに教えていただいて、西部のSIM群に行きました。
1860年代の西部を舞台にしたRPGで、それなりの衣装を着ていないとOOC（キャラクタ外れ）で追い出されそうです（＾－）
オーナーさんに「流れ者」のタグを頂いて、とりあえず一番隅の人がなるべくいないSIMへ入ってみました。

Visited Wild Western SIM group that Kazumi told me about. These SIMs are in the year of 1869, to provide a large role play as authentic as possible. It is required to wear suitable clothing. OOC (out of character) may be chased out. The owner gave me a tug of ‘Drifter’ and I tried to get in the most vacant one situated at the corner.
メーサの間を抜けると、インディアンの集落が。
一応それなりの恰好をしたつもりなのですが、部族によって衣装も違うみたい。
Passing through small table mountains, there was a colony of Indians. I tried to wear somewhat suitable clothing but it might depend on each tribe.
小さな町。ダンス、ボクシング、ポーカー、魚釣り、ピクニックなど日常の生活を再現するのだそうで、教会もあります。
多分ガンファイトも。 但しシューティングゲームではないから、意味なく撃ってはいけない、というルールが。
A small town next to the desert. Things may happen daily in the life of their citizens, such as boxing events, poker games, fishing, picnics, and even church. Also there could be gun fights. But there is a rule that says this is not a shooting game and you should not shoot someone without substantial reason.
参加しているSIMは20以上。日本からだと時差があるので本格的なRPGへの参加は難しいのかもですが、
ドイツ、スペインなどからの参加者も多いようなので、様子がわかってきたらお話を伺ってみます（＾－）
There are more than twenty SIMs participated in the RPG. It may be difficult to join the activity from Japan since there is time difference, but there will be many attendants from Germany or Spain. I will try to talk with them when I get the drift as a drifter.

ニューヨーク
今回は弟のアパートに転がり込んで、10日間マンハッタンから一歩も出ず、午前中はミュージアム巡り、午後はショッピングの毎日。
ミュージカルを二つ見て、靴を4足も買った（＾－） 帰ってきても興奮が抜けず、SLでもNYを探しました。これはSLの街角。
This time fell into my brother’s apartment and did not go out of Manhattan for ten days. Visited museums in the morning, and went shopping in the afternoon. Watched two musicals and got four pair of shoes. Did not calm down after coming back, and tried to find nice New York in the SL. This is a corner of one of a NY city SIM.
RLのタイムズスクエア近くのブロードウェイ。溢れる光はSLでもなんとか表現出来そうですけど、歩行者天国に溢れる観光客はどうしようもない。
RLをコピーしたり再現しようとするのには限界を感じます。
Broadway near the Times Square in RL. The flooding light could be expressed in SL, but no way to show the tourists all over the pedestrian paradise. Feel some limit in copying or reproducing RL world in the SL.
タイムズスクエアにもあった椅子とテーブル。人は沢山いるのに、ゆっくり座っているのは少なかったです。
Chairs and tables that were also set at Times Square. Although there are so many peoples, few are sitting at an easy pace.
誰もいない雨の朝の日曜日のＲＬマンハッタン。お店は開いていないけど、どこでも自由に走り回れるのはゲームの世界のようでした（＾－＾）
最後の日まで零下3度位と暖かかったのですが、帰ってから雪に変わったそうです。
This is RL, a rainy Sunday morning at Manhattan where very few cars are. Shops are not open yet but it is joy to drive around freely in the city, which looks like a driving game. It was good that the temperature was around the freezing point which was rather warm, but it started snow after we left.

ハワイ
週末はハワイのビーチへ。Hawaiiで検索するときれいなビーチが沢山ヒットします。
イルカと泳ぐ。一緒に泳いでるのがフューリーなのがちょっと残念（＾－）

Visited Hawaii at the week end. Many beautiful beaches can be found by searching with “Hawaii”. Swam with a dolphin. Unfortunately the one swimming together was a furry.
泳いで冷えたら、火山の火口の溶岩の中で温まる。これもSLでしか出来ないね。
Got chilled with swimming, warmed up in a flood of lava at the top of volcano. This is possible only in the SL.
ここには楽しいボールが沢山あります。このブランコは動きがゆっくりなので、目が回らないし写真が撮り易かった。
There are many joyful pose balls here. This swing moves slowly then no dizzy and easy to shoot pictures.
丸太乗り。お約束通り最後は落ちます。何かテクニックが活かせるようになってるといいのに。
Logrolling. Dropped as expected. It could be better if there were some techniques required for the rider.
鉄棒。何種類かの技があり、落下も二通り。どこにでもありそうなアニメなんですけど、海辺の木陰にあると特別楽しい。
他にトランポリンやリンボーもありました。
Horizontal bar. There are several patterns and also two way to fall down．This will be around every place but it seems nicer when it is situated in a shaded glade on the seaside. There are also trampoline and limbo.
落ちたヤシの実にアリが沢山！ 全部動いてる。足には登ってこないけど（＾－）
ハワイには本当にアリが多いのでしょうか？
A lot of ants around a heart of palm. They were all running, but did not climb my foot. Are there really so many ants in Hawaii?

パレンケ遺跡
メキシコSIMにあるマヤ遺跡です。ピラミッドを探していて見つけました。これは宮殿の跡。
歴史や遺跡には興味はなかったのですけど、ネットで見ると実物そっくりです。
中を歩くと、昔実際にこれを作ったひとと、SLのオブジェクトを作ったひとの気持が伝わってくるようで不思議な感動があります。

Palenque, a Maya ruins in Mexico SIM. Run into while searching pyramid. This was a palace. I have not been interested in historical ruins, but It looks the same as the original that I can see in the internet. It generates a magical charm when considering the person who built these, far distant past and now in the SL.

Wore a free cloth to look the part. There is also free clothing for male. Does it fit me, since I have a dark complexion?

冬のNYC
ユーヨーク在住の弟が一時帰国しました。
貿易センタービルの幻が残っている街角で名物の蒸気噴出に乗ってみた。
My brother returned home temporarily from the USA. Tried to float in the popular steam blowout on the street of NY where the phantom of World Trade Center is standing.
立ち並んだビルは、どれもテクスだけで、以前紹介した未来都市のように中へ入れないのが残念。
以前先っぽに立ったクライスラービルやエンパイアステートは見つかりませんでした。別のSIMだったのかな。
All buildings are made of texture and cannot be entered like the futuristic city I introduced before. Was not able to find the Chrysler Building or Empire State on which I stood at the tip last time. That might be a different SIM.

ビルの上から
エンパイアステートビルの頂上に挑戦!！
先端が丸いので座るだけならいいけど立つのは大変。隣はクライスラービル。
At the top of a building: Challenge the summit of Empire State.
The top is round. It is easy to sit on but hard to stand up. The neighbor is Chrysler Building.
ちょっと動くと落ちます。飛んでるときよりスリルを感ずる。
A slight move may cause falling. More thrilling than flying above.
先端の小さい姿が私。クライスラービルの先端は尖っていて、座ることも出来なかった。
The small figure on the top is me. The apex of Chrysler Building is so sharp that I cannot even sit on.
