アート「音楽」
西オーストラリア大学のアート展示の3月のテーマは「音楽」、音を使わないで３次元のアートを、という課題。
展示作品のほとんどは楽器、楽譜、ダンスなどがテーマでした。
音楽による描写は展覧会の絵、月光、田園から惑星まで、沢山ありますが、逆に音楽をアートで表現するのは難しいのかも？

The theme for the UWA Artist's Choice is "Music". The task is to depict music with 3D arts without using sound. Most of the works are using musical instruments, notes, or dancing. There have been many pieces that describe objects such as Tableaux d'une Exposition, Moon light, Pastorale, or Planets, but it might be difficult to express music with art.
印象的なのは展示場の背景になっていたFreeWeeさんの巨大なパイプオルガン。幅200m以上、高さは180m近くあります。
本当に演奏したら最大の菅から出る音は1Hz以下、人間が耳で聞こえるのは20Hzくらいまでですから、ほとんどの音は聞こえず、
体が強烈に揺すられる低周波騒音（＾－） 音自体が数Hzではリズムをとることも出来ないでしょう。
An impressive one is a huge pipe organ by FreeWee Ling providing the back ground of the stage. The height is about 180m and the width is more than 200m. If it were played actually, the tone from the largest tube would be about 1Hz. Since human ears can catch sounds only between 20 to 20,000Hz, most tones will not be audible, and they will be low-frequency noise shaking your body. With sounds about a few Hz, it might be impossible to keep rhythm.
Cherry Mangaの「蝶」 暗い中に蝶が舞っているだけですが、楽器と音符から離れた音楽的空間を感じました。
他に音楽で描写されたものを逆に視覚化する、という試みもあってもよかったんでは？
ユートピアの視覚化が難しいのと同様、大きなチャレンジになるでしょうけど。
Butterfly by Cherry Manga. In a dark atmosphere, butterflies are dancing. It provides me with a feeling of a space of music. There could be some approaches to visualize objects that had been depicted with music. As it would be difficult to visualize a Utopia physically, that could be a big challenge.
黒い木々はよく見たら音符と五線紙のかたまりでした。
飛び回ってる蝶はアサギマダラに似てますが、音楽とのつながりは分らなかった。
Second look confirmed that the dark trees were made of music notes and sheets. The butterflies flying around seem to be chestnut tiger butterfly, but I cannot see how they relate to music.
テレポーターが素敵でした。
このアート展では会場上空に別セットされるものが多いので、テレポーターの役割も重要です。
The teleporter was cool. In this art stage, there are many arts presented in the sky above, so the role of teleporter has importance.

Heehee.. I'm glad you noticed my improbable organ pipes. While I did not attempt to calculate actual pitches, most of the pipes are actually sized and spaced proportionally, as they increment by 1/12 of an octave (multiplying by the 12th root of 2). I imagine the tone from the largest pipe would feel rather like an earthquake.
The pipes are not an entry in the exhibition, as you noted, but rather serve as a decorative backdrop.

Also I noticed that the pipes are not aligned according to geometrical progression. But no one would care since most notes are inaudible^-^
You could blast stained-glass of a church by playing suitable tunes to make resonance.
