西オーストラリア大のアートコンテストの8月分を見に行きました。
Glyph Gravessの「現実からの引用」： ACE衛星から得た地球の磁界の強さと形を使って要素を変形させテクスチャを変化させているのだそうです。
ACE衛星は地球と太陽間のラグランジュ点（重力平衡点）周りの小さな軌道を回ってて、太陽風の変化をキャッチし地球に警報を送るそうです。

Visited the August event of UWA 3D Art Challenge that was at the voting stage. ‘Excerpts from realities‘ by Glyph Graves. This piece takes the earth magnetic field as read by the ACE satellite and folds its elements and shifts its texture in accordance with the strength and shape of the earth’s magnetic field. The satellite located at the L1 libration point between the earth and the sun will enable ACE to give about a one hour advance warning of impending geomagnetic activity.
1分毎に変化する形状と色は、ある程度パターン化されているようですが、似たような形でも微妙に変化し、色と共にその都度新しい形を見せてくれます。
Its form is updated every minute. The shape might change according to some patterns that bring in similar shapes, but the color is changing separately and it shows different figure every time.
真上から見るとCG万華鏡。見始めると次はどうなるかが気になる。もし今磁気嵐が来たらどんな形になるのでしょう？
ラキボを待ってるような感じもあって30分以上見てしまいました。
The top view. It is really a kaleidoscope with CG. Once started watching, tempted to watch the next every time. If a magnetic storm were coming, haw should the shape be? So I ended up with watching it for more than half an hour, like waiting for a lucky chair.
