輪の中の輪
LEAの最新の展示、Rebeca BashlyとConstructivIST Soloの「輪の中の輪」。RebecaさんはフルSIMアート「ダンテの神曲」を作った方です。
直径200mの大きな地球儀の中に作られています。なんか変なのでよく見たら地形が裏返しになってました。

Visited the recent presentation at LEA, Circles Within Circles by Rebeca Bashly & ConstructivIST Solo. Rebeca is the artist who did the full-SIM art, Dante's Divine Comedy. This art is within a globe with 200m in diameter. The shape of the terrain seemed strange because it was reversed.
作者は、この展示は決して分りやすく作られてはいないが、人間の体験には大きな関連があることに気付くだろう、と言っています。
ウロボロスの輪、メビウスの帯、車輪や歯車など、輪のイメージが沢山あります。
The artist comments: "By no means is this exhibit intended to be comprehensive; it can't be. However, we hope that the visitor will come to the recognition that there is an overarching interconnectedness not only between science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, but that this interconnectedness, this fabric of that which is and that which makes up the human experience, very much also includes the social and behavioral domains." There are many images of circles such as ouroboros snake, symbol of samsara, Mobius strip, gears and wheels.
中央には絶ち難い人間の内部の連鎖を表すのか、引き裂かれた巨大な頭部が。 顔も地球みたいに見える。
At the center, there is a huge lacerated head that may depict an inseparable interconnectedness in human being. The face also seems like the earth.
地球儀を支える巨大なフレームも互いに結合した輪になっています。
これも宇宙と人間の神聖な輪廻の構造を示しているのでしょうか。
The huge frames that support the globe are also made with circles. This may also depict a sacred representation of the cyclic nature of the universe and of the human experience.
誰でも思いつきそうで、きれいに作るのは難しいと思う虹色の花輪。
A nice versicolor flower ring that can be thout by everyone but is hard to make beautiful.
人類が作った古い輪、ストーンヘンジ。天文学的意味を持たせたRLの解釈はどうもこじつけみたいに思えますけど、
丸い輪というものが持つ魅力と重要性は古代から認識されていたのでしょう。
The oldest circle that human made, Stonehenge. Interpretations in RL regarding astronomy seem to be a forced analogy, but the charm and concern regarding circles have been there since ancient times.
