This week meeting was held at the Noh stage of Edo castle. Some samurais came on a horse. There are different hoses, handsome one, and macho one. While waiting for the meeting, three girls are dancing on the stage, the Evening Girls(?) of Edo. It is rather not a Noh but Bon Festival Dance.

Noh-Butai (Noh stage) was used to present performances held for important functions and celebrations such as entertaining the imperial envoy from the Choutei (the imperial court). When Noh performances were held over a period of several days or more for such ceremonies, Machi-Toshiyori and Ie-Nushi (upper class land and home owners) were invited to watch the Noh on the first day of the performance.

http://slurl.com/secondlife/EDO%2001/164/39/33

The Hon-Maru Goten of Edo Castle consists of the Omote (the great outer palace), the Naka-Oku (the middle palace), and the Oh-Oku (the inner palace), each of these was reproduced precisely. (It is said that there is a secret game room for the creators.)

Front yard of the Oh-Oku. There is the Tenshu-kaku (Main Donjon) seen above the roof.

The weekly meeting of Edo Me-Gumi was held at the Oh-Oku this time. This place, Oh-Oku Gotaimensho (reception room) was the most prestigious space in Oh-Oku and used for annual events. Good news from the leader: An annex of nagaya (row house) will be built newly. The condition will be the same, 10L$ per month. Do not miss the announcement!

In Edo SIM, there is a group named Me-Gumi. The leaders of the group, Me-Gumi Kashira are holding weekly meetings to gather information and requests from residents to report to the owner. The Edo castle is reproduced precisely by using four SIMs, but it is not used normally. So we will try to use it for the weekly meeting. The great pine corridor was used this time. The situation of the famous incident here was reproduced using three figures, Asano, Kira, and Kajikawa. The three sword carried by them can be got free by touching them. Please do not miss as souvenirs of Edo.

The Edo castle was reproduced precisely using four SIMs abundantly. Seeing from a distant camera, the meeting was at a small area of the vast space. In the Edo castle, there are the great hall, the black hall, and the white hall, all for meeting. And also there are the main donjon, Noh theater, and the inner palace reproduced truly. Next weekly meeting will be held at the inner palace, surrounded by ladies of Shogun. The meeting is free to join. Please come and see next Wednesday.

NIGATSU WA NIGERU, SANGATU WA SARU: In Japanese, we say February escapes and March leaves. It depicts that these months fly away quickly, and also March is time to part since April is a start of schools and a financial year. I had a broken heart in March this year and last year. Never two without a third? Is there anyone hold my body tight that was shot at the bull’s-eye of my heart…

The below is an archery at Edo. There might be a big award prepared at festival. It is recommended to train skill in advance. Spring has come, but I have not made new T-shirts yet. There are 40 T-shirts available at this shop, five shirts for 5 L$. Please try.

March 31st was the first anniversary of EDO. The main events were live performance of Skill Up, and Rakugo (comic monologue) by Tohoho-Tei of Asakusa. The Tohoho-Tei is a new style of SL entertainment that presents classical Japanese Rakugo through text chat. It opens every day. Persons who are interested in entertainment are welcome.

The finale was prepared by Gura the firework master as usual. This time, all fireworks were shot by handheld launchers. It was rather a fire than fireworks. So many particles made the SL heavy and there were several avatars forced to go down. My system also failed while taking pictures. There are some avatars that do not come back yet. At the last, someone started to shoot horizontally and it was a chaos, but we all enjoyed a lot. Thank you, the management of Edo for this whole year! Looking forward to seeing another fruitful year.

A flying carpet is now available for Edo sightseeing. This has an arabesque pattern on it but is transparent from the top that is good for looking down. The below is the Matu-no-Roka (great pine corridor) of Edo castle. On April 21, 1701, Asano Takumi-no-kami, (daimyo of the Ako domain) who was in charge of the entertainment for the imperial envoy, drew his short sword and attempted to kill Kira Kōzuke-no-suke (the Kouke Kimoiri, an instructor for the entertainments) for horribly insulting him. The situation was reproduced here, and all swords of these Samurais can be taken free of charge!

Skiing at Edo: Next to my house, at the back of Kanda Shrine. The ski is a freebie at Niseko Ski Resort.

Downhill from the top of the small mound to Kanda Shrine. Only two turns are enough to get the bottom, but this ski can go not only downhill but also uphill. Can run freely around rocks and trees.

Also can tumble over, in front of deer,

Jump toward the morning sun. Completely different from the large scale downhill at Niseko, but it is joyful to be able to ski at an adjacent place to my house. Played for more than two hours alone.

Death in action:Edo Pine Festival on 24th. After the established archery contest, fire occurs in the Edo city. The Edo donjon was caught fire again. This time the fire was bigger than last year. It was no rain and Edo fire fighter Megumi worked hard using hand pumps.

Swinging hard the duster, but the Happi coat caught fire and I was covered with flames.

The fire was put out, and General Kohmon delivered gold coins as incentives, but the dead body lying on the roof was not noticed. The coins were scattered on the ground. The fastest person got more than forty coins. I also received several ones as a replacement of condolence money. Since my PC is rather fast, I would be competent if I were trying hard.

Great Edo Year-end Party:The dancers are not Geisha but normal Edo fellows. There was no rehearsal or notice in advance, but all wore nice Kimonos and tried hard to synchoronize the dance according to the great stage set and direction. The sense of community was so joyful and delightful!

The four SIMs of Edo castle town. On the left, there is a shopping street at Asakusa. The top middle is Yoshiwara, where an entertainment center Nekoichiraku-za is. Kanda shrine is on the top right, and the next to it is my Temi’s Tea House. On the right middle, there is the party site floating in the air. The moat of Edo castle is seen on the right, and there are further six SIMs that include whole Edo castle precisely reproduced.

Well on into the night. Above the cold Edo town covered with snow, the party site remained bright and warm. Impassioned by the excellent preparation and direction done by the Edo officers, experienced a special night with full happiness, and thanked a lot that I was able to live in Edo.

Edo-tree:Decorations on the tree in front of the Kanda Shrine in Edo Kanda is now in progress. Snow-clad Edo city. In front of a gate like luminarie, a couple who had a wedding ceremony at the Kanda Shrine and me playing gooseberry.

Edo illumination:The main event of the November festival is light-up of total Edo city. All rows of trees are decorated and there are huge trees at pivotal points. At the Yoshiwara, where the Oumiya has been temporarily closed, a new leisure complex is opened. Lights are on in the all houses and the prosperity near future is predicted.

The biggest tree is the one in front of Kanda Shrine. Huge light swirl is running up on it. This tree does not have any tie to Christianity and will be decorated freely by residents of Edo toward the New Year. Someone is already planning to put fish sausages on it. Looking forward to seeing what kind of tree is established.

The scene is in front of my house and the illumination can be watched sitting on my sofa. The small white trees are in my yard. They can create snowfall and be seen here and there in Edo.

This is a house of my friend neighbor. The child made a Kamakura (Japanese igloo), but the mother added bugeyes while he was taking a nap, and almost let him be close to tears. What kind of decoration will this family put on the tree?

Autumn in Edo: Stayed at New York for 10 days. Walked around the city, watched a musical, NY marathon, the president election in TV, and stayed at an outlet for six hours. The season in NY was at the start of winter and the temperature got almost freezing point. Came back Japan and saw a full autumn here. Also Edo is at the foliage season and the trees behind my house turned yellow, which were brown when I left Japan. The firework launchers are still in the moat.

An open fire is suitable for the winter. Am lazy and did not search about the fire animation. Put several jacklights together and surrounded them by wood pieces. There are few guests at Temi’s Tea House. One person I love is enough for the guest and I like the quiet autumn in Edo, but it may not be good for the SIM owner.

Edo Harvest Festival was over. The usual event was a live performance by Yukino Ichikawa, The Yopkobue story, on a stage with full moon on a pampas grass field. The talk show revealed her unique attitude against love affairs.

Usially watiching the fiereworks in the air, but looked up them from the water this time. Since Edo land is almost sea level, a bit dive can get the water. Since Gura the firework artist was busy, there was no new type, but first half was using only white and yellow elegantly then later full colors were bursted out. A new arrangement will be released next time to much the season. Please looking forward to!

Good-bye Edo Ginza: One of the Edo SIMs will be closed. There is the Nakamira-za, Kabuki theater here, which may be reserved and moved to another SIM, but may be closed for the period. Visited there together with my sister.

It is out of manor to sit here but it was impossible to sit on the floor. Sorry but the all audiences are dummy. Some Edo residents were practicing comedies dreaming of some day to perform them here. I was also expecting some performances played here in future.

Fire and fight are fancy fares in Edo. There had been arson announcements. The final spot was the Castle Tower. The famous fire brigade, ME-GUMI of Edo, got together but water cannot reach the tower. Self-sacrificing effort to blow out the fire by MATOI, a fire duster. I also jumped into the flame, but no risk to get burnt.
